Description

Chlorphenesin is a synthetic preservative and antifungal agent used in cosmetics and personal care products to extend shelf life by inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria and fungi. It is produced by reacting equimolar amounts of p-chlorophenol and glycidol in the presence of a tertiary amine or a quaternary ammonium salt as a catalyst.
